The Rapid Response® Urinary Tract Infection Screening Strip is a firm plastic strip onto which several separate reagent areas are affixed. The test is for the qualitative detection of the following analytes in urine: Leukocytes, Blood, Nitrite and Protein. The Rapid Response® Urinary Tract Infection Screening Strip is for single use in self-testing. The results should be interpreted in combination with other clinical information. Consult a physician before making any medical decision. The test detects Leukocytes, Blood, Nitrite and/or Protein in urine. WHY TEST FOR BLOOD AND PROTEIN: Presence of blood and protein in urine can indicate health issues; typically related to the presence of UTIs or kidney function. Healthy kidney will filter large substances from urine such as blood cells and protein, however inflammation due to UTIs or disease can cause small amounts of blood and protein to bypass the kidney into the bladder.
