About ME
This is my story
Born and raised in Port Alfred, South Africa, my passion for drawing began at a young age, but flourished through regular practise starting in 2009. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in photography from Rhodes University, I went on to obtain a Postgraduate Certificate in Education there, then transitioned into teaching. I taught Grade 2 in the Eastern Cape for 5 years before I relocated to Johannesburg with my husband, Justin, and our two fur children – Peaches and Sossy.
I did my first pet portrait commission in 2020, which sparked a side hustle alongside teaching. The move to Johannesburg in 2022 brought challenges as I navigated starting anew. Despite setbacks and various ventures to make ends meet – including an online clay jewellery business, online clothing store and macramé sales – I persevered and found solace in my art. In February 2026, I made the leap to pursue art full time. Embracing my passion for nature and fine detail, I began creating botanical-inspired pieces.
I am incredibly grateful for the encouragement and support I have received since I started pursuing my career as an artist. I finally feel like I am where I need to be and I am so excited to see where this journey will take me!
